How to change the function of the keyboard keys

Imagine you have a laptop that you use often. It broke a button, for example: the ” Alt ” key and you cannot use an external keyboard (something that happened to me). For this and other issues would be very convenient to be able to reconfigure the function of a button in order to change its function, but you know very well the Windows registry to do this. Instead in this guide, I will explain how to make the shift key, for instance, behaves like the Alt key only downloading a special program. With it you can reverse, stop or change any key on the keyboard either from a PC laptop that fixed.

1.) If you, like so many other people have this problem of buttons, well do not worry there a program that is in your best or our case SharpKeys and the right program for such a problem, it takes much time to download as long as we go on the site : http://www.randyrants.com/sharpkeys/ Download them, when it is done in the program folder will find SharpKeys.exe or MSI. Then clik above and install, expect to have finished and on.

2.) Once started, after a small welcome screen, we are on a window with two columns. The first are ” Map this key (from key) ” and the second ” To this key (to key) “, the first indicates which key, we want to change the second function that we would make them. Under the two columns are the key ” Type Key ” when pressed opens a separate window that says ” Press Key ” press that we want to change. Once you choose the key and given the new function, we click on ” OK ” and then later to get it running we need to click on ” Write to Registry “.

3.) Other key program that could be used in the course of work are: ” Edit ” allows us to modify a function given previously, ” Delete ” allows us to clear a previous function, ” Delete All ” allows us to erase all functions ” Close ” is equivalent to exit, and then allows us to exit the program.

4.) If you do not know English there is no problem: click ” Type Key ” under each column and when the window appears saying ” (press a key) ” press the key you want to indicate. After choosing a new function button and press ” OK ” on the main screen and we click ” Write to Registry “. Remember to finalize the change, you must restart.

Note : To activate changes you have to restart your computer after you press Write to registy. The change will be made in all keypads connected to the computer (if there were more than one). The change is only possible on Windows 2000 / XP / Vista.
