QNAP has announced the availability of the new QNAP TS-251C, a NAS with support for two compact discs. The device allows you to create a personal cloud and a media center for transcoding Full HD video in real-time or offline; supported streaming video via DLNA, AirPlay, Chromecasts and functions for use as Plex Media Server; you can be leverage the HDMI output with the media player XBMC and a wide range of applications for file storage.

Featuring an Intel Celeron dual-core 2.41GHz and 1 GB of RAM DDR3L low energy, the QNAP TS-251C offers performance read / write speeds of 112 MB/s. In a system configured with the function of the NAS encryption, maintains levels of 112 MB / s with an improved security of data.

The device offers transcoding video in 1080P real-time and offline to convert videos on the fly or in the background in universal formats that can be played back from computers, mobile devices, or Smart TV.

Users can play videos smoothly selecting a version of the video with lower resolution through mobile applications File Station, Video Station and Qfile. You can play multiple videos simultaneously stored within the NAS without affecting the performance of applications in use.
