YouTube earns Material Design on Android, here is the new interface

They become more and more applications are compatible with the new design language typical of Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Even YouTube is redesigned from scratch to support the new stylistic canons of Lollipop. Google is slowly updating all proprietary applications for Android with new user interfaces based on Material Design, for more coherent and non-native apps, in a process that will involve short also the third-party software.

Material Design is the graphic language of Android 5.0 Lollipop, which Google has explained the guiding principles in this page. The characteristics of the new interfaces are manifold, and based on a mixture of screens stylized mixed with elements taken from reality, such as real-time shadows. Every interaction on the screen is highlighted by smooth animations, and more bars of each application can be customized with colors chosen by the developer.

Google wants to make Android more consistent also with regard to third-party applications, as is evident from the first proprietary app updated with new styles. The update of YouTube is nothing but yet another confirmation: Available from a few days to the first users, the company has finally made official roll-out of the last update, which also brings some new structural, such as the introduction of filters Search through which you can limit the results based on specific characteristics, such as the length of the content or quality.
