Acer has announced the new 13 and 15-inch Chromebook laptops, even in Spin variants. The new models are available with traditional notebook form factor, and also in ” convertible ” mode, which allows you to enable the typical use experience of a tablet using your fingers or a Wacom pen as an input device.
The 13″ models are characterized by the use of 3: 2 display, preferable in productivity compared to 16: 9 widescreen, eighth-generation Intel Core processors and the presence of USB Type-C ports.
Acer Chromebook 13 and Spin 13
Acer Chromebook 13 and Acer Chromebook Spin 13 use the same IPS Full HD+ 13.5″ in 3: 2 format with a resolution of 2,256×1,504 pixels, but used in two very different form factors: the standard model is a classic notebook, while the Spin is a convertible that can be used in different ways thanks to the 360° hinge.
It can be transformed, in other words, into a big tablet with Wacom EMR pen support, which is included in the price, and in much more The touchscreen panel is only available in the Spin variant, which also includes a slot to insert the pen when not in use.
There are several hardware platforms for the two models: Acer Chromebook 13 is offered with Intel Celeron 3865U, Pentium 4415U and i3-8130U, with support for up to 16 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage on eMMC memory; Acer Chromebook Spin 13 instead adopts Intel Core i3-8130U and Core i5-8250U, with up to 16 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage on eMMC. Laptops support Android apps and even a dedicated dock to expand connectivity.

This year also the 15.6″ version has a Spin version with convertible form factor, the first Acer device with Chrome OS to boast such a large diagonal. This model guarantees a declared autonomy of a maximum of 12 hours, with Acer that wants to guarantee a wide personalization capacity in order to offer a solution for all the pockets according to the needs of the single. In this case, we find a body characterized by a crossed silver weft, with the system that weighs 2.1 kilograms.
Together with the new model, Acer has also updated the models of the Chromebook 15 family, which offer the same Full HD display both in the touch version and in the standard version. The new models use Intel Celeron N3350 or N3450 processors, up to 8 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, two speakers, 2×2 MIMO ac connectivity, two Type-C USB ports and as many full-size USB 3.0.
