Using a metaphor, one might say that Apple Watch has matured to such an extent that the new Series 3 has gained independence from the iPhone, at least partially. The new Apple Watch Series 3 comes in two variants, one that we could call traditional, and one with access to the cellular network, while still using the same iPhone phone number.
Let’s face it right now: this latest version is not – at the moment – expected to arrive on the Italian market. The system, which involves sharing the same phone number of the iPhone on the Apple Watch virtual e-SIM, must obviously have the support of telephone operators to work, so that feature will use a certain amount of time (and generations?) For be globally available.
From what is on the dedicated Apple support page, the countries where the integrated version of e-SIM will be sold are: USA, Canada, Puerto Rico, Australia, France, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, UK and China – and only with certain phone operators that, as written in the footnotes, must be the same on the iPhone’s SIM. So, for example, since in France, the only supported operator is Orange, only users who have an Orange phone plan on the iPhone can use the mobile network on Apple Watch.
The new model is in the same design as the previous one, while the inside is the new dual-core processor S3 and the W2 wireless chip that can handle Bluetooth 5, Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity. Obviously, GPS is not missing, but here is the barometric altimeter, absent on the previous generation. Finally, the Siri virtual assistant will be able to respond verbally and not just displaying screen information.
The Apple Watch Series 3 will be available in the Sport version with aluminum silver, gray, silver and gold aluminum case (from the picture, I would say a rose-pink gold). The Nike version with custom dial and straps will also be available.
So let’s talk about Apple TV, the Cupertino set-top box, which is castrated, given the absence of Siri for this device. The Apple TV that we found on the market, will continue to be sold at a price of $149 and with 32GB storage.
