For some time, Canon has definitely changed its product range non-reflex: first seen by the Japanese company only as a side dish to its main course, they are taking an increasingly important role within the range, following the growing appreciation of public.
The renewal of the compact Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark III goes in this direction and brings with it innumerable technical innovations. It starts from the sensor, which is now a real APS-C (22.3 x 14.9 mm), compared to the previous format of 18.7mmx12.5mm, and is the same that equips products such as Canon EOS 77D and EOS M5. So we have 24 megapixel resolution and Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology for focusing phase detection on each photosite. Equal also the beating heart, the Digic 7 processor.
This is a product that for Canon fits in the prosumer range, and the price of $1,299 is the confirmation. A product that thanks to the APS-C sensor could attract more looks of interest than the two previous editions, which were still able to churn out images of higher quality than the compact ones with smaller sensors, as we told you in our review.
The integration of the electronic viewfinder is instead of a point in favor of the new model. Thanks to the integration of gaskets in critical points, the machine is declared resistant to dust and humidity.
