The first screens equipped with HDR technologies, High Dynamic Range, and NVIDIA G-Sync are finally to officially debut on the market. Initially shown in the 2017 CES edition of Las Vegas, just over 16 months ago, these products were characterized by a series of marketing delays that led them to the current situation.
The Acer Predator X27 will be the first to debut, with deliveries in North America starting from June 1 at a price of $1,999 excluding taxes: this is a very high value, in line with the €2,500 that had been indicated in recent weeks as a pre-order price at some European retailers.
A technical note on the maximum refresh rate: this is limited to 98 Hz, due to the maximum bandwidth available with DisplayPort 1.4 connection, using a 4:4:4 chroma sub sampling; going to 4:2:2, it is possible to go beyond the 120 MHz refresh rate.
