Here is IBM Plex, a new open source font

IBM Logo

IBM has announced the open-source publication of its new font, called IBM Plex. The font will be used by the company for all occasions when it will be necessary to show text, including the website and presentations.

The new font offers support for 110 languages and further expansion is planned for new sets, for example to support Cyrillic. At the moment, there are eight different weights available for the mono, sans and serif variants. The font looks decidedly modern and minimal, with good readability even when the text is small.

The company has made the font available for free to anyone and for any purpose. Internally, it will replace Helvetica, a font used so far, and will be used everywhere: on company websites, in software, in press releases, in presentations and even on visitor tags.

You can download the entire set of fonts directly from GitHub, where IBM has published it and made it available.
