Intel announces Intel Unite Cloud Service

Intel Unite Cloud

Anyone who has attended some work meetings knows how dispersed they can be. If it can console, it is not a matter of isolated feelings: Intel itself cited a Harvard Business Review study which shows that 71% of executives say that meetings are not very productive and efficient.

To overcome this problem, Intel has been offering Intel Unite, a secure wireless content sharing solution between meeting rooms, remote users and guest users. In concrete terms, Intel Unite integrates with the main Unified Communication solutions such as Skype for Business, Cisco WebEx and Zoom to allow homogeneous experiences in all the different collaboration spaces.

From a technical point of view, it is a server based on Intel vPro platform that offers integrated security, stability and management functions. Support for advanced telemetry allows IT and facilities management to access to large set of data related to hardware, connectivity and use of the rooms.

Intel Unite goes to the cloud

Until now, Intel Unite was an exclusively on-premise solution, which required to install – and consequently manage – the internal servers of the company. From 12 June, a cloud version will also be available. Intel Unite Cloud Service provides the same functionality that organizations can expect from the local solution: secure wireless sharing of content between meeting rooms, remote users and guest users. Instead of wasting time and resources managing a local PIN server, this feature is now implemented in the cloud, potentially minimizing infrastructure costs and IT overhead.

Intel Unite is in an exceptional position to unify the collaboration mode for companies, providing a simple and uniform user experience in every collaboration environment ” – commented Jason Goecke, Intel Vice President and General Manager of Intel Unite, Intel Client Computing Group – ” The new Intel Unite Cloud Service makes our vision of business collaboration accessible to organizations of all sizes, offering flexibility, convenience and choice in Intel Unite implementation, on the cloud or on premise.
