WD MyPassport Pro – RAID with Thunderbolt performance in mobility

WD MyPassport Pro

Some time ago, we tried the LaCie Little Big Disk, a portable unit that uses the Thunderbolt connection speed to travel at a maximum of two RAID disks, available with both HDD and SSD. Lacie has clearly identified an audience of creative movement, but its product has a couple of limitations in weight and request for a dedicated power supply. Both of these problems will be solved by the new Western Digital with MyPassport Pro.

The unit reveals its aesthetic nature of a double-disc, available in cutting 2TB (1TB x 2) or 4TB (2 x 2TB). Everything revolves around the Thunderbolt cable, thought so brilliant as not to disturb during transport and always be connected to the device.

WD MyPassport Pro

It is currently not available with SSD for a specific choice of the house, but the Thunderbolt connection allows you to maximize the speed of the disks and integrated with the RAID stripe is reached the remarkable milestone of 233MB/s, more than enough even for professional work in the field of photography, video and music. It is an interesting solution for creative mobility because it allows you to travel light without the need for dedicated power supply with large capacity and operating speed and discreet.
