Nikon DL: New premium compact with high-quality lenses and sensor CX

Nikon presented by a new series of digital compact cameras level ” premium “, which take the good sensor and borrow part of the technology of mirrorless series 1, with the added value consists of high-quality optics.

Nikon introduces a new range of cameras marked with the initials DL, very special in many ways. We begin by saying that fall under the premium compact class: the objectives are not interchangeable, but the company still wants to keep high level of quality by offering a component of a good standard. There are three models in the range: Nikon DL24-85 f/1.8-2.8, Nikon DL18-50 f/1.8-2.8 and the Nikon DL24-500 f/2.8-5.6.

For accomunarle all we find the BSI-CMOS sensor CX 24.5mm (we assume that the Nikon 1 J5) credited with 20.8 megapixel, which can take pictures in JPEG or NEF (RAW) and resume 4K/UHD movies 30p/25p. The interesting video capabilities are guaranteed by the new EXPEED 6A image to four cores, also responsible for the extension ISO processor up to the value of the fund 12800.

Interesting autofocus, which combines 105 points in the phase detection with other 171 contrast detection: all this helps to provide potential for continuous shooting up to 20 fps, rising to as many as 60 fps fixed focus.

All models are equipped with Dual Detect VR stabilization, which combines the true optical image stabilization and proper with the angular velocity of the machine, to get more and more still images going beyond the theoretical limit guard. Do not miss the superficial treatment of the lenses in fluorite, as well as the dial on the objectives for the manual focus.

Completing the features common the presence of a 3-inch touch OLED dispay (tilt mode for DL24-85 and DL18-50, full articulation for DL24-500 model), Wi-Fi, NFC, autonomy of 290 shots, and Nikon technology SnapBridge, which keeps connected the camera to the smartphone via Bluetooth for easy sharing or management of shots and movies.

The hot-shoe ISO slide 518 in each Nikon DL allows the use of various accessories, including Nikon Speedlights such as the new SB-5000 and dedicated electronic viewfinder (EVF) tilt DF-E1 with switch-off sensor monitor.

A change is the integrated optical. It can be seen from the names, Nikon fragmenting the offer based on the equivalent focal in the full format: DL24-85 f/1.8-2.8, Nikon DL18-50 f/1.8-2.8 and the Nikon DL24-500 f/2.8-5.6, all with an excellent brightness value/maximum aperture.
