ZTE Axon M: here is the smartphone foldable with two screens
The ZTE Axon M is now official: the foldable smartphone has two 5.2-inch screens. When open, it can be used as if it had only one large 6.75-inch screen or two independent screens.
ZTE has removed the veils from its latest creation: the ZTE Axon M smartphone, equipped with two 5.2-inch screens separated by a hinge that makes the smartphone foldable.
The smartphone market has experienced a period of relative stability over the last few years; no striking innovations were introduced nor did they make surprising proposals in terms of design. Among the main innovations we cannot forget two elements: the curved screens, the area in which Samsung pioneered, and the borderless screens, whose road was opened by Xiaomi with the Xiaomi Mi Mix.
The ZTE Axon M offers a new design for the era of smartphones: the device opens in half, which allows you to have two screens side by side – when closed, one screen is on the front, and the other is on the back. Both panels have a diagonal of 5.2 inches and Full-HD resolution (1,920 x 1,080).
When the screens are open, ZTE states that you can use two applications at a time in a mode called ” Dual Mode “. The ” Mirror Mode ” mode instead allows you to have the same application on both screens – a useful fact if, for example, you play in two.
A third mode, called ” Extended Mode “, allows to use the two panels as if they were one; this leads to a 6.75-inch screen with a total resolution of 1,920 x 2,160 pixels.
Inside the device, which can still be used as a traditional smartphone with a single screen, are placed a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal memory expandable via microSD, a 20-megapixel camera and a 3,180 mAh battery. The latter figure is the one that arouses more concerns, since smartphones with a single screen already see him in the first places in the consumption of the battery. The presence of two screens suggests a higher consumption, so autonomy may not be so prolonged.
