A GeForce GTX 980Ti with much copper for MSI

The Taiwanese company proposes a new video card for gaming enthusiasts, featuring a dual-fan heatsink entirely of copper and a GPU over-clocked series.

Thanks to a cooling system more peculiar to the materials which for the shape, MSI ensures that the card GTX 980Ti Golden Edition can operate stably with the GPU pushing a value of frequencies much higher than those of specification.

We are talking about a basic clock frequency of 1,190 MHz, which can go up to 1,291 MHz clock as a boost. The result is outperforms the NVIDIA reference board based on the same GPU, but without an additional impact on speed performance given by a video memory frequency increased appreciably from specifications.

The 6 Gbytes of memory GDDR5 video are pushed to the actual frequency of 7,100 MHZ, made of 100 MHz more than the reference design of the American company. The rest is the cooling system of the GPU to stand out in this card, justifying the Golden Edition included in the name.

The heatsink dual fan of the family Twin Frozr V is built entirely of copper, material with excellent properties in terms of heat transmission but also characterized by a very high specific weight. Consequently, the card GTX 980Ti Golden Edition stands out for both the color and the aesthetic form, both for the total weight higher than that of comparable cards.

The proposal is a limited edition, as is indeed easy to see by observing the construction and choice of all-copper heatsink. The card will be officially presented next week, to coincide with the Gamesweek Madrid.
