Asus ZenWatch 2 on the market in October

The German fair Asus announces the availability and price for the second generation of its smartwatch, which will be available in two models and in three different colors.

It’s been a few months since ASUS has presented, at Computex Taipei, the new smartwatch ZenWatch 2: then it was a simple presentation on paper, with a reference to some technical characteristics and lack of important information such as price and availability, announced today at IFA in Berlin.

As we already knew, ZenWatch 2 will be built in two models from 49mm and 45mm: the first, with 1.6-inch screen, will be priced at about $167 and the second, with 1.45-inch screen, will be instead marketed to about $190. For both the market availability is planned for October.

ZenWatch 2 is characterized by the presence of AMOLED screen and a metal casing resistant to dust and water according to IP67 specifications, including the adoption of a glass Gorilla Glass 3. The interaction with the user interface takes place also by means of a crown lateral which acts as a button. The operating system is Android Wear.

Inside, a processor Snapdragon 400, 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of storage space. In terms of connectivity include the presence of modules WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1. Charging, which can be done through a new magnetic connector, allow recharge the watch to 50% capacity in just 36 minutes.
