Cambridge Audio presents the CXA61 and CXA81 integrated amplifiers and Roon compatibility
Cambridge Audio, one of the historical brands of ” British sound “, presented the two new integrated amplifiers CXA61 and CXA81. The company’s range of network readers is then enriched with compatibility with Roon.
Cambridge Audio has announced the availability of the market of the new CX Series 2 series, which includes the new integrated amplifiers CXA61 and CXA81.

For the Cambridge Audio CXA61 has decided to rely on an unusual platform: the ESS Saber ES9010K2M DAC, designed for portable devices and launched several years ago. The DAC can decode signals up to a maximum of 32 bits and 384 kHz for what concerns the PCM and DSD256 contents in the case of Direct Stream Digital contents.
There is now the USB input, missing in the previous series, as well as the possibility to connect to the amplifier via Bluetooth with aptX HD codec. Amplification reaches 60 W per channel on 8 Ω loads.
The CXA81, on the other hand, focuses on an ES9016K2M DAC, which offers the same characteristics as the DAC on the CXA61 in terms of reproducible content. Again, we find USB input and Bluetooth connectivity with aptX HD. The main difference lies in the greater power supplied, 80 W at 8 Ω, and in the presence of balanced XLR analog inputs.
Cambridge Audio announces compatibility with Roon
The British company has also announced the compatibility of its Edge NQ and CXN (V2) players with the Roon platform for streaming. Thanks to this compatibility, it is possible to control the players directly from your computer without having to perform any configuration, thus leaving users the freedom to enjoy the music without having to go into the configuration details of the system.
