Dell announces the new Alienware and Dell G Series Gaming Laptops

The company has announced several new products, including notebooks designed for gamers. It starts from inexpensive models for those who are less demanding, up to real desktop replacement without compromise and GPU GeForce GTX 1080.

Dell has just launched several products, simultaneously updating the line-up of laptops designed for gaming. Among these are the new Alienware 15R4 and Alienware 17R5 aimed, as usual for the brand, for those who want to throw themselves headlong into the world of video games without compromise.

The new models make use of Intel Core 8th generation processors up to the Core i9 models, and aim to be the most powerful laptops ever designed by the company. They adopt improved thermal solutions compared to the past, within a design with the lowest possible thickness.

The shell is made of aluminum, magnesium alloy and reinforced steel parts, while the accessibility to the internal components has been simplified with a new mechanism that can be opened at the bottom.

The design for the speakers integrated with the smart-amp is also improved, while all the configurations adopt network adapters Killer Networks e2500 Gigabit Ethernet and Killer 1550 Networks 802.11ac 2×2 with support for Bluetooth 5.0. Along the chassis, there are three USB 3.0 ports, one with PowerShare technology, and another Type-C port for reversible connectors.

New Alienware 15R4 and 17R5 Gaming Laptops

Alienware 15R4 uses in the basic version the Intel Core i5-8300HQ, while variants will also be available with Intel Core i7-8750H and Core i9-8950HQ. The latter two 6-core processors are the only ones available on the 17″ version.

The 15R4 model uses 15.6″ displays in two different versions: a Full HD Tn with a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz, the other IPS 4K Ultra HD with IPS matrix. As for the model Alienware 17R5 we find two panels, both 17.3″ : one Tn with refresh rate of 120 Hz at Quad HD resolution, the other instead IPS with 4K resolution and 60 Hz refresh rate.

On the GPU, we find both AMD solutions (with Radeon RX570 and 8 GB of dedicated GDDR5 RAM) and NVIDIA. In the latter case, versions with GeForce GTX 1060, GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 with 6 and 8 GB of dedicated DGGR5 RAM can be purchased.

On the memory side, laptops are equipped with 8 to 32 GB of RAM and different storage solutions, either SSD S-ATA or PCIe M.2, HDD or hybrid. Do not miss the dual and triple storage configurations to get the best out of the different worlds.

The new Alienware laptops will be available on the market by the end of April 2018 at a price of 1450 and 1600 dollars respectively for the 15 and 17-inch basic variants with G-Sync, while 1400 and 1550 for those without G-support. Sync.

New Dell G Series Gaming Laptops

Together with the new branded laptops, Alienware Dell announced the new G Series family products. It starts naturally with the Dell G3 15 and Dell G3 17, which use a compact design and eighth-generation Intel Core processors and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GPUs with Max-Q technology.

Both models use the same hardware features and differ mainly in terms of display size and general: panels are IPS and maintain support for native Full HD resolution. Those who want to spend less can opt for the GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti GPU solutions, while Dual Drive configurations, with HDD and also SSD, both SATA and PCIe are available.

Dell G3 15 LaptopsLaptops also implement 4 to 32 GB of RAM depending on the version. On the connectivity front there are Wi-Fi ac, optional Bluetooth 5.0, an HDMI 2.0 port, two USB SuperSpeed ​​3.1, an optional Type-C with support for Thunderbolt 3, and Gigabit Ethernet. Very interesting prices for basic versions: $749 for the 15-inch model, 799 for the 17-inch model.

Also at $799, we find the basic model of the Dell G5 15 variant, which can implement Full HD or 4K panels, both IPS, inside a 15″ diagonal. This product is equipped with Intel Core i5-8300HQ or i7- 8750HQ, up to 16 GB of RAM (maximum of 32 GB can be installed) and different storage solutions similar to those of the G3 family.

The video cards can also be in this case three, all NVIDIA: GeForce GTX 1050, GTX 1050 Ti and GTX 1060 with Max-Q, to mention the presence of Killer networks and the MaxxAudio Pro system to improve the sound output.

The latest model in the family is the Dell G7 15, available in the same period at a base price of $849 and also with optional Intel Core i9 CPU. The GPU of the solution at the top of the range remains, also in this case, a GTX 1060 with Max-Q.
