Garmin Varia Vision is the heads-up display for cyclists

Attached to its eyeglasses, Garmin Varia Vision allows you to replicate the information from your computer or in the family Edge directly on the glasses, so you do not have to look down while pedaling.

Varia Vision is a new product announced at CES 2016 from Garmin, the proposal that expands the family of solutions that the company offers to the American cycling fans. It is a heads-up display. That is a small viewer that fits over their glasses, which allows to provide specific information coming directly from the device of the family Edge (at the present time are supported models Edge 1000 and Edge 520) mounted on the own bike.

Varia Vision by then equal to a second display controlled by an Edge, allowing the rider to see data on their performance without having to look away from the horizon.

The product must be hooked to their sunglasses, with a system that provides an anchor base that remains fixed on the glasses clamped to the latter through some rubber bands. The structure of Varia Vision is then fixed to the anchorage base, so that it can easily be removed depending on the needs of the moment. On this are placed the viewer, the power circuitry with rechargeable battery (lasting approximately 8 hours) and a side button that allows you to scroll through the information.

You can be combined in Varia Vision to Varia Radar, Garmin part that provides directions on approach of a vehicle from behind so as to warn the rider in case of impending danger. In this case, Varia Vision provides a graphical indication with its own display, operating in this case also as a kind of secondary display for Varia Radar.
