Gigabyte XM300 inaugurates a new line of Xtreme Gaming products

The Gigabyte XM300 Gaming Mouse offers a highly efficient laser sensor and deep customization, all at a much cheaper price than that of many other devices with similar characteristics.

Gigabyte XM300 is the solution in which the well-known hardware manufacturer sets the tone for the new line of Xtreme Gaming products dedicated to the most demanding players. It is an honest mouse, which offers interesting possibilities for customization and a very efficient optical sensor, all at a competitive price of about $40.

We are talking about the optical sensor Pixart 3988 by 6400 dpi and able to adapt to most of the modes of interaction, to allow precise movements in all circumstances and to ensure that the input from the player is always faithfully reproduced.

Through the great internal software, also, players can set the sensitivity associated with each of the four profiles available, among which you can select the desired one by acting on two convenient buttons located on the top of the device.

As you can see even in an image in this page, the user can adjust the speed sensor in a simple way via the included software and through increments of 50 DPI. This for each of the four profiles storable in the internal memory of the mouse.

With 50g of acceleration and the ability to draw up to 200 inches per second, the optical sensor of Gigabyte XM300 is revealed aligned to those present in much more expensive devices, allowing the player and the precision movements, such as those required for example, by a sniping session, both the most sudden and abrupt, such as those needed to scroll through large game maps in an RTS. On the side, at the top, there are four LED indicators that allow the player to immediately verify what is the profile set.

In addition to the sensitivity you can also configure the wheel slip intensity, together with the report rate. Also in this case there are various settings available to the user (8), with maximum setting equal to 1000Hz, or aligned to the best solutions on the market.

This has historically allowed the option to contain the amount of communications between the system and device in order to streamline the occupation of the processor. Today it is more useful for tasks that require more thinned out over time communications between the system and device (the minimum acceptable value is 125Hz).

Gigabyte XM300 also offers a RGB backlight system, which allows you to select the color at the base of the Gigabyte logo on the device between 16.8 million possible options. Also in this case the software proves to be immediate and after selection, the effect is applied instantaneously. There are three available lighting styles: the first two are constant, pulsating, while the third will change between the previous two.

The software also allows you to associate various types of function 8 buttons located on the device. And do not miss the opportunity to create macros: after pressing the button registers, you can chain up all the possible combinations of buttons, also establishing the timing between a button and another.

On both main devices, buttons are grafted Omron switch type. Products from the homonymous Japanese society, these are recognized as the best mouse switches and are guaranteed, according to notices from Gigabyte, up to 20 million clicks.

The device’s design is designed to fit any type of handle through the right hand, then palm, claw and finger tip. Compared to other similar devices, we see a fairly pronounced central bulge, which does not produce discomfort even after particularly long gaming sessions and not compromise on comfort, marrying very well especially with the grip claw.

Below are the interchangeable Teflon feet, which guarantee grip and rolling resistance on almost all surfaces. The feet give all XM300 a good feeling regarding the move, at the same time benefiting from the reduced weight of the device (about 100 grams), which is not configurable by the user.

Inside the box, you will find two additional sets of legs (one white and one black) if the original ones it wears out and requiring their replacement.

The top surface is pleasant to the pact, while the sides are a rubberized pad that ensures maximum grip for the thumb. The USB connector is gold plated while the 1.8-meter cable is PVC coated and is not twisted.

One of the most positive elements of Gigabyte XM300 is the wheel. Knurled and robust, guarantees excellent grip and great precision, even for the ability to configure the type of movement as we have seen before.

Unfortunately, this wheel turns a wobbly moment within the space in which it is housed. The feeling is not so good even for the two main buttons, left and right, making it feel to require excessive force to be pressed and turn out loud.

These buttons make it shine like the Gigabyte materials used to XM300 not always correspond to the best solutions available and are the reason that allows Gigabyte to sell this mouse at such a competitive price.

Mouse that, instead, remains very interesting in terms of smoothness on the surface and for the precision allowed by its optical sensor.
