GoPro HERO7: With super stable shooting thanks to HyperSmooth

GoPro drops its ace and on the new GoPro HERO7 Black introduces the HyperSmooth function: the new stabilization mode, which promises perfectly stable video, in all situations, even without the use of motorized gimbal heads.

Among the GoPro action cameras remains the benchmark and the US manufacturer continues the evolution of its products to maintain leadership. In recent years, a steady stream of gimbal has been seen to make videos more stable and enjoyable: today GoPro drops its ace and on the new GoPro HERO7 Black introduces the HyperSmooth function.

HyperSmooth is the best integrated video stabilization ever offered by a camera ” : this is the motto with which GoPro introduces the new feature, which promises perfectly stable videos, in all situations, even without the use of motorized gimbal heads.

GoPro HERO7In addition, unlike the latter HyperSmooth also works underwater and in strong wind situations. The results would seem really relevant, especially if compared to those of previous generations, as you can appreciate in the video published by GoPro.

Of course, as noted by some users in the comments, the presentation of previous models the images shown were never so bad and rough: either they cheated on old videos (using stabilized gimbal) or have a little exaggerated differences in this video.

The camcorder allows you to record videos in 4K/60p, 2.7K/120p and 1080/240p and photos up to 12 megapixels. This is a waterproof action camera without a housing up to 10 meters and offers a 2-inch touchscreen interface on the back. GoPro has also worked on the microphone membrane to improve the sound, minimizing the noise disturbance when mounted on supports.

Among other functions we find Live streaming for automatic sharing in real time, but saving the videos also on the SD card in high definition. The TimeWarp function, on the other hand, allows you to create super stabilized timed videos with a ” run on the magic carpet ” effect, with speeds up to 30x.

GoPro HERO7For those who use the action camera also for photo shoots (for example, example mounted on drones) the SuperFoto function, uses an intelligent analysis of the scene to obtain professional-looking photos applying technologies such as HDR, tone mapping and noise reduction on more frames.

For those who love to make their stories of Instagram with the action camera (maybe in difficult situations where exposing a mobile phone for more than $1,000 is not a good idea) you can use the appropriate vertical mode. Among the peculiarities, we find then the voice control (active in 14 languages) for use without hands.

The new GoPro HERO7 Black has a list price of $395. To complete the line next to GoPro HERO7 Black, we find the new GoPro HERO7 Silver and GoPro HERO7 White, the action cameras for everyday activities designed for beginners and middle-level users, with a more affordable price.

GoPro HERO7 Silver 4K ($299) and GoPro HERO7 White 1080p ($199) are also resistant, small and waterproof up to 10 meters, but they do not offer the new stabilization technology and the White model stops at Full HD regarding video recording.
