Hangouts – Version 2.0 with support for SMS / MMS available on Play Store
As expected, Google has released today the 2.0 update of your application Hangouts for Android. You can download the new version directly from Google Play Store. This new release includes support for SMS (MMS as well as support on Android 4.0 and higher), animated GIF and shares your location with one touch.
With the introduction of support for SMS / MMS you can use Hangouts 2.o is to send messages via the web (ie free) and classic SMS and MMS.
Here is a summary of the main features of this app :
- Find out when people find themselves in Hangouts, when typing or viewing your message.
- Send and receive messages (SMS / MMS) with Hangouts. Switch between SMS and Hangouts while exchange’s messages with a friend. You can also take group conversations via MMS.
- It transforms any conversation into a video call with ten friends.
- Send messages to your friends at any moment, even if they are not related.
- The Hangout remains synchronized between devices so you can start them or continue them anywhere you want.
- Choose from hundreds of emoji to better understand your point of view.
- Learn what you talked about in the past, the photos you’ve shared and the history of video calling.
- Receive notifications only once. If you receive a warning, this warning does not appear again on your computer or other Android devices.
- View photo collections shared by each of your Hangout.
- See notifications when you prefer not to be disturbed by alerts.
- Share a place quickly with your friends.
