HP announces the HP ZCentral remote workstation, for next-gen computing

HP ZCentral is one of the first single source remote workstations, built by HP to support next-generation computing. ZCentral is able to centralize the computing power of the workstation in a single workstation, in order to offer users secure access to manage high workloads on any type of device.

A few days ago, at Autodesk University, HP announced HP ZCentral, a solution that will enter the next generation of computing by offering a single source remote workstation, one of the first in the world. Thanks to the HP ZCentral system, the power of high-end computers is centralized in one place, allowing users to manage large workloads at any time, from any device.

The latest solution from the US giant combines the powerful workstations of the Z by HP line with the new generation ZCentral Remote Boost software and ZCentral Connect, all in order to accelerate the business workflow.

HP ZCentral: High performance even remotely

As the office of the future continues to evolve, HP is equipping today’s workforce with the world’s only single-source remote workstation solution, accelerating more complex workflows from any location. HP ZCentral is reinventing how companies meet the demands of the global workforce with flexibility, speeding up IT distribution and management, reducing costs and ensuring data security.

These are the words of Jim Nottingham, General Manager and Global Head of Workstations of HP Inc., who announces the launch of HP ZCentral. This latter solution offers dedicated IT services to remote departments and an intuitive and reliable management system, with the aim of reducing IT administration costs and the risks associated with possible data breaches. ZCentral can offer 16-33% higher performance at 59-72% of the cost of today’s virtual workstations.

Recipients of HP ZCentral solutions include creators, animators, researchers and developers, those who tend to work on the move and require tools that can maintain high levels of productivity and efficiency.

In these circumstances, professionals manage large files for complex workflows: HP meets these needs with the ZCentral Remoote Boost software, which offers high performance for VFX, simulation and 3D jobs. ZCentral Connect allows IT departments to monitor connections and access through a single interface, simplifying access to workstations and protecting them.

ZCentral Remote Boost – compatible with Windows, Linux and MacOS platforms – and ZCentral Contest will be available in early 2020, while Beta versions are already available to current HP customers.

In summary, HP ZCentral solutions offer :

  • Improve efficiency, with faster loading times for large projects in remote locations.
  • ZCentral Connect : allows you to manage connections remotely through a single and simple interface.
  • ZCentral Remote Boost : allows remote use for expert users, who can thus benefit from the high performance of the Z workstations and work with any device, from any location.
