HP Workpath, the app store for HP printers

HP has unveiled new A3 printing devices and the HP Workpath and HP Command Center cloud solutions to develop and deploy applications dedicated to HP printers that aim to make workflows more efficient.

The digital transformation has changed the relationship between companies and paper and printers, which from mere devices to transfer documents on paper are becoming hubs that offer services and integrate with corporate workflows, bridging the gap between analogue printing and digital documents.

HP has set itself the goal of simplifying and streamlining these processes, and with this in mind, it has created two cloud platforms: HP Workpath and HP Command Center.

HP Workpath, the app store for HP printers

HP Workpath is a cloud service dedicated to print service resellers and developers that allows you to create and distribute applications for HP printers for distribution to your customers. To a distracted eye, it may seem like an unhelpful function, but this platform can significantly streamline business processes.

For example: the Concur app allows you to scan receipts and generate and send expense reports directly, all with the push of a button.

Another example is Sage Intacct, which scans the paper invoices, links them to the related purchase orders and sends them to the recipient.

At the moment, there are 300 developers active on the platform and 50 ready-made applications, some of which are dedicated to specific sectors such as health, education and the Public Administration. The number of apps is growing rapidly, and HP plans to add 20 more for the first few months of 2020.

HP Command Center simplifies the life of the IT department

HP Command Center is a cloud platform that allows you to remotely configure HP printers and distribute related apps, especially for print service providers. It offers partners the opportunity to diversify their offers by finding, accessing, advising and signing a subscription to HP Workpath applications, in order to offer customers more valuable solutions. It will be available later this year for HP Premier Partners.

The new line of A3 color laser printers

HP MFP M776

In addition to the platforms, HP has also announced two new printers: Color LaserJet Enterprise MFP M776 and HP Color LaserJet Enterprise M856. They are both A3 laser models capable of generating excellent quality color prints and are intended for the production of marketing materials and, more generally, professional documents.

What sets them apart from other models is the new printing mode that allows you to obtain more vibrant and more faithful colors to the original without having to use complicated (and expensive) calibration systems: thanks to the Custom Color Manager technology.

The solutions we present today have been designed with the needs of our customers first in mind ” – said Tuan Tran, Incoming President of the Imaging, Printing and Solutions division of HP Inc – ” By reinventing the role of the printer in the workplace, we provide Today’s mobile and digital users are smarter and more integrated tools that allow them to get things done safely and more efficiently, anywhere, anytime.
