Kaspersky Lab: Women are not interested in protecting the photos on their mobile devices

According to a recent press Kaspersky Lab, the majority of women underestimates the problem of safety with regard to photos and other content stored on their mobile devices.

According to a survey conducted by Kaspersky Lab and B2B International, more than half (53%) of women attribute more value to photos and videos stored in your smartphone to any other file stored on the device or the device itself (56%), compared 39% of men. However, despite more than a quarter of women is concerned about the online safety of these images, many do not even apply the most basic security measures.

Women more easily share the photos that portray men (48%) or that show people they know (40%) – compared to 43% and 33% of men. One in three women is concerned that these images and other information can be shared inappropriately or without their consent, causing embarrassment and problems if sent to the wrong person (30%) or even damaging of relations (31%).

Despite this, many do not realize how vulnerable to a cyber attack: only 19% of women believes he can be hit, compared with 27% of men. Do not apply the necessary security measures to protect the precious photographs or other sensitive information stored on their device. Unlike the men, 19% of women admit to not protecting your device with a password and 14% of respondents do not use any form of protection.
