Meizu Pro 7 and Meizu Pro 7 Plus officially announced with dual display, dual camera

Meizu announced its new top range, featuring a display positioned along the rear body.

Meizu is one of the most prolific and interesting Chinese producers, one of the most active in our Italian market. It is also present in large electronics resale chains, with devices that adopt excellent materials, beautiful designs and sophisticated hardware solutions.

The company has just introduced the two new flagships, Meizu Pro 7 and Meizu Pro 7 Plus, smartphones that use a display along the back cover. Meizu is not the first to adopt a dual display solution: before it came Samsung Galaxy Folder, the LG V20 and YotaPhone 2, among the latest ones.

But the new Chinese flagships use an all-around approach. The two smartphones share many features: in addition to the rear display, they have a particularly similar design, but underneath the body the hardware is different with the smaller one that looks more from midranger than as a baseball flagship.

Meizu Pro 7Meizu Pro 7 can adopt a MediaTek Helio P25 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, or a MediaTek Helio X30 with 128GB of storage, while the Meizu Pro 7 Plus only uses the SoC Helio X30 with 6GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of storage.

The Pro 7 and the Plus variation also differ in the display: the smaller one adopts a 5.2-inch Full HD resolution panel while the Plus is a 5.7-inch Quad HD resolution panel. Both make use of Samsung’s Super AMOLED display, whose quality should be particularly high according to the company’s fees. As we have already anticipated, the peculiarity of the two smartphones is the rear display, in both cases a 2-inch SuperAMOLED, obviously touch, which can have different destinations.

It can be used naturally to handle and display notifications without having to access the largest front panel to handle playback music, and can also be a ” viewfinder ” for the rear camera, which can also be used for selfies.

The company also promises a great personalization capability for backside wallpapers. As far as the camera is concerned, the two smartphones come with two 12 megapixel rear fuses with f/2.0 lens, PDAF autofocus, dual-LED flash and 4K video.

On the front, we have a 16-megapixel camera compatible with a software algorithm that should offer several benefits in shots in the dark. All this will be powered by 3,000 mAh and 3,500 mAh batteries respectively for Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus, which can be quickly downloaded with mCharge 4.0 technology. The two smartphones use the customized Android operating system with the ROM Flyme 6, a Hi-Fi chip for high-quality audio through the 3.5mm connector, which is then featured on the top Chinese range tops.

The two smartphones will be available in China: Meizu PRO 7 will have a base price of 2,880 Yuan, while the latest version with the Helio X30 will cost 3,380 Yuan. Meizu PRO 7 Plus will cost 3,580 and 4,080 Yuan according to the version.
