Mozilla Firefox has finally arrived on iPhone and iPad

Change of direction for Mozilla, which finally brings his historical browser on the iPhone and iPad. Firefox becomes compatible with iOS and is available from a few hours on the App Store.

Mozilla did not decide to develop Firefox for iOS because of some restrictions of the operating system. Apple does not allow iPhone and iPad to set up a third-party as the default Safari making, in this case, the only browser actually exploitable in all its facets. It is a limitation that did not go to genius representatives of Mozilla, at least until Thursday.

Indeed, the team released the first version of Firefox for the iPhone and iPad, materializing an idea that had been announced by Mozilla in the last months of last year. After some local tests carried out in New Zealand, Firefox arrives on the App Store also in the various countries of the world. As on Android, Firefox for iOS offers a private browsing mode, as long-term research on Chrome and Firefox support accounts.

The experience of use of the browser is then synchronized across all platforms: browsing history, saved tabs, passwords and bookmarks are stored and tracked on the cloud, and will always be available regardless of device or platform. For example, browsing to a page from this PC will be inserted in the chronology also iOS smartphone or tablet Android, all without specific interactions.

After a quick test, we can say that Firefox on iOS is smooth and responsive, and its smooth operation. Be faulted but also Safari and Chrome (the rest of iOS use the same rendering engine pages), with the use of a particular browser advisable, especially on the basis of the choices we made on the desktop. Clear is that if you use Firefox on the PC switching to Mozilla browser on iOS is strongly indicated. The download can be performed on the App Store.
