New monitor ASUS at CES: Laptops with USB Type-C, Curved, Panoramic and for Professionals

ASUS at CES 2016 brought three new monitors in addition to its line-up: these are three very different models each other, they occupy different niches equally.

Among the many products that ASUS has brought to CES 2016 in Las Vegas, there are three new models of monitors. These devices are very different and equally interesting within the niche markets they intend to occupy. In short, there is a panel with a single laptop USB Type-C, a curved 34-inch with the aspect-ratio of 21: 9 and a monitor professional 4K resolution and 100% coverage of the sRGB.

ASUS MB169C+ is the first handheld monitor the company to boast a single connection, USB Type-C, to connect to source and supply. It is characterized by extremely compact dimensions and of course adequate transport: the company is about 8.5 mm thick and weighing just 800 grams. The display uses an LCD panel IPS 15.6-inch full HD resolution (1,920×1,080 pixels) that should ensure image quality and color fidelity at any viewing angle.

Among the monitors brought to Las Vegas are also ASUS Designo MX, with IPS LCD panel also but with very different specifications. The diagonal of 34 inches while the maximum resolution supported is 3,440×1,440 pixels. It is an ultra-wide, then a panoramic 21:9, with a curvature 2000R. The panel is surrounded by small frames, a feature that makes it suitable for integration in multi-monitor configurations.

The base of the device may be used for the wireless charging with devices compatible with the standard Qi, while there are also two speakers 8W compatible with the technology ICEPower Bang and Olufsen.

Full line-up of new monitors ASUS Designo MX27UQ the model, 27-inch monitor more traditional thought for the professional user. The panel in this case is flat, but it supports the resolution 4K Ultra HD (3,840×2,160 pixels) and a gamut of 100% with regard to the sRGB standard. The monitor comes with two stereo speakers 3W Bluetooth themselves compatible with ICEpower technology.

The company has not yet unbalanced in terms of prices, ASUS MB169C+ could be somewhere between $200 and $300, while we have not been yet reliable information regarding the other two models announced by the company.
