One billion users for WhatsApp and Gmail

The two communications systems reached one billion monthly users: WhatsApp is aiming for the other 6, for Gmail 10% of the answers is instead automatically written.

One billion seems to be the recurring figure of this start of 2016: the past weeks annuncità Apple has reached an installed base of active devices amounting to 1 billion today are Facebook first Alphabet and then to announce that respectively WhatsApp and Gmail have reached the finish line 1 billion monthly active users.

On the official blog of Whatsapp we read: ” We are proud of this achievement, and we are honored the extraordinary ways in which all of you have used WhatsApp. […] And yet, despite all the progress we have made together over the last seven years, our mission has never changed. WhatsApp began with a simple idea: to ensure that everyone can stay in touch with their family and friends in any part of the planet, free of charge and without cheating. ” Whatsapp does not hide his ambition to be able to spread among the remaining 6 billion inhabitants of the planet: ” We have a long road ahead. ”

As for Gmail, Twitter is chosen to thank users with a small video:

In addition to reaching the finish line, a curious fact and interesting (perhaps disturbing, at times) is the fact that 10% of the responses to the messages in your Inbox is generated automatically by the Smart Replies: in short, there is a strong likelihood that the next short and concise answer you receive from an @gmail.com address is written by an artificial intelligence.
