OneNote now also on Android and Windows Phone, saves Word files or PowerPoint

The new versions of OneNote introduce interesting new features: you can now create notes using an Android device, while Lens OneNote on Windows Phone, you can create editable Word or PowerPoint file. Also available is a new OneNote extension for Safari on iOS 8.

Within a few hours there are new version of OneNote app dedicated to Android, iOS 8 and Windows Phone. For each one, Microsoft has introduced a new specification; we start from the version dedicated to Android Wear it now offers the ability to use an Android Smartwatch to create notes on their notebooks in OneNote.

Just install OneNote for Android from Google Play Wear and utter the phrase ” OK Google, take a note ” to enable the option. As hardware requirement is necessary to match the smartwatch a smartphone equipped with Android 4.3 and higher.

For users of iOS 8 is instead provided a new extension for use with Safari: the new component OneNote allows you to capture parts of a web page by inserting a note in such content managed by OneNote. The extension also provides full control over the destination to save the notes and supports obviously OneDrive or OneDrive for Business.

The note will be created also keeps track of the URL from which you copied the contents in such a way that in the future we can possibly go back to the Web page.

Even for Windows Phone was presented a novelty linked to OneNote: in this case, it is the OneNote Lens app that allows you to take time from the camera of the mobile device to create a note about OneNote.

 

The new version allows you to create from the image captured by the camera files like Word or PowerPoint that will be saved on OneDrive: in these elements are then recognized the font characters, any lines or arrows and using the usual functionality of Office applications you will be able to make corrections or changes.
