Panasonic Lumix LX100 II, with touchscreen, new sensor and more
Panasonic presents Lumix LX100 II, heir to a model that is definitely appreciated by fans. Some changes, but without exaggerating, in order not to upset those that were the strengths of the previous model.
Panasonic has finally introduced the model Lumix DC-LX100 II, a high-end compact that replaces the previous LX100 (without II). The public niche, has been able to appreciate this model the qualities of compactness and quality, all in a vintage look that appeals to photography enthusiasts.
A first innovation we find in the sensor, a four-thirds (17.3 x 13 mm) that rises in resolution compared to the old model, reaching 17 Mpixel against the 11 Mpixels of the ” old “. However, the ” multi-aspect ” approach remains, of which we have been able to speak in the LX100. This feature allows you to keep the same diagonal, and the same focal equivalent, for the formats 3:2, 4:3, 16:9.
What’s new is the 1.2-inch 3-inch screen, which is now a touchscreen, while the 0.7-inch electronic minisk with 2.76 million points and 100% coverage remains. It does not change the highly appreciated integrated optics, Leica DC Vario-Summilux 10.9-34mm F1.7-2.8 (equivalent to 24mm-75mm in 35mm format), bright and of high quality.
There remain dials and controls of the old model, which give that retro taste to the device, while to mention is also the introduction of many creative modes as different monochrome patterns, which allow you to generate photos with different levels of contrast and brightness in black and white no need for post production (always possible, of course).
The size of the buffer grows, allowing now to capture 33 images in RAW at 11 fps, which drop to 5.5 fps with continuous auto focus. It remains obviously possible to film in 4K, while on the front connectivity, we find Bluetooth, WI-FI, micro HDMI port and USB 2.0.
