Philips announces its first 5K monitor (5120×2880 pixels)

Philips has announced its first 5K monitor: Philips 275P4VYKEB is based on a panel of 27″ with very interesting technical features and addressed to professional users. Of course not for everyone.

Philips launched its first 5K monitor that supports a native resolution of 5,120×2,880 @ 60Hz. With four times the number of pixels of the Quad HD standards and more than 50% compared to the Ultra HD resolution, the new Philips 275P4VYKEB panel is designed to meet the needs of graphics professionals and users. The monitor supports PerfectKolor technology that delivers a gamut Adobe RGB 99% and 100% with regard to the sRGB standard.

The 5K resolution provides the user 1000 to 700 extra pixels in the horizontal and vertical sides, respectively, delivering an extra space to use for example, more and more windows in the foreground. The 27-inch panel boasts a 10-bit color support with 12-bit internal processing and uses PLS technology that allows viewing angles of 178 degrees both vertically and horizontally. The monitor also integrates two stereo speakers 2W each, webcam with LED indicator and microphone.

Philips 275P4VYKEB MonitorThe Philips 275P4VYKEB maximum resolution is playable exclusively through dual DisplayPort connection, while using connection to a single port will not be able to overcome the traditional 4K, equal to 3,840×2,160 pixels.

According to the technical specifications issued by the company on the panel has a maximum brightness of 300cd/m², support MHL connections and three USB 3.0 ports, one compatible with rapid charging technologies.
