Philips SBT30 SoundShooter wireless Portable Speaker Review

Almost all electronics manufacturers have ventured into the production of each speaker bluetooth price and quality. The interest in this kind of product increases with the spread of smartphones and music liquid, now ubiquitous in every platform and mobile operating system. Philips has done quite original with its Philips SBT30 SoundShooter, code-named “Grenade”.

The look is precisely that of a grenade, or if we want a small barrel, where the outer shell is characterized by a series of streaks chewy that make it resistant to shocks. The size is rather compact with a height of 8cm and a base diameter of 5.5, which become 6.5 at the center.

The weight of just under 140 grams makes it very handy and in place of the fuse, there is a practical hook with which you can attach to a backpack, belt or wherever deemed appropriate.

At the top, we find a status LED white and a round button, surrounded by a blue light, which is used to activate the Bluetooth paring, control playback and answer the phone. In the lower part on the back, there is a small hole that hides a microphone, so that the cash can be used for all purposes even for telephone conversations and with sufficient quality.

Always at the bottom, but on the other hand, we find the power switch with three positions: on / aux (cable) / Bluetooth and a micro USB port.

The special micro USB cable is on the one hand, and on the other splits into a 3.5 mm jack and USB, so it can be used for charging (by computer or with its own power supply) or a wired audio source, is one smartphone and your computer.

Very practical hook, which gives a more original look to the product and can be used to move with the music in tow. After all the weight, you’re wearing it without even realizing it.

The audio is in line with the positioning of the product, the speaker 1.5 ” (2W) you listen nicely, round midrange and more pointed in the treble, bass tones with not too much emphasized. Reproduction is a little boxed dates, the size and the radio does lose something in the definition. It supported the volume is nice, but pushed to the maximum distorts. When used with an average volume can hold almost a full day of play Bluetooth and charging are very fast.

Philips SBT30 SoundShooter – Conclusion

If you need a bluetooth speaker Compact and lightweight, the original look and with a battery life of the valid Philips SBT30 is a good compromise. The sound quality is more than enough for the sale price (around $50) and is appreciated for longevity, ease of use of the controls and the presence of the microphone for hands-free calling. The product is definitely a winner in the quality / price ratio and is also available in different color variations. A gadget that will repay its cost thanks to a good deal of versatility.
