Samsung Galaxy Watch arrives in market

The new Samsung Galaxy Watch is available for purchase in Italy in different sizes, colors and technical characteristics. The device fits into Samsung’s Galaxy ecosystem, aiming for an increase in autonomy compared to the company’s previous smart watches, and offering new features for stress and sleep monitoring, an elegant design with a wider range of customizations and three colors : Silver, Midnight Black and Rose Gold.

Samsung promises a battery life of up to 80 hours for the 46 mm model, while for the smallest 42 mm, the estimated range is 45 hours. The data were collected with a ” typical use “, while with moderate use you can touch the 170 hours of autonomy (120 hours with the 42 mm model). In the coming months, the LTE version with integrated e-SIM will also be available on the market, offering a stand-alone experience and allowing you to disconnect from your smartphone.

Galaxy Watch can be used to check and set up appointments and reminders, but check the weather information, to make calls or listen to music, but it is mainly designed for well-being: among the novelties in this area, we find a new monitoring feature for the stress management, which automatically detects levels and offers breathing exercises to stay calm and focused on your goals.

The new sleep monitoring system, on the other hand, monitors all sleep phases, such as the REM cycles, in order to improve user habits and improve the quality of rest. 21 new indoor exercises were introduced in the watch and a total of 39 monitored workouts to improve one’s routine. Galaxy Watch also allows you to monitor power with calorie control and personalized alerts.

The watch also offers an Always On mode with which the display is always active and several very interesting features: analog clocks can for example: reproduce the ticking of the hands, which can project shadows in real time. On the technical front, we find a glass in Gorilla Glass DX+, a water-resistant case up to 5 ATM and as we have specified, two versions of 46 and 42 mm with support for 22 and 20 mm straps.

The display is obviously a circular SuperAMOLED in both cases with a resolution of 360×360 pixels, with a diameter of 1.3 “. The integrated batteries have different dimensions: the 46 mm model incorporates a 472 mAh unit, while the 42 mm one is stops at 270 mAh Under the casing, we find a 1.15 GHz Exynos 9110 Dual Core processor and 768 MB of RAM combined with 4 GB of internal memory. The LTE version will have 1.5 GB of RAM and 4 GB of storage.

To complete the list of technical specifications, we find Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi n, A-GPS with GLONASS and NFC, while charging is wireless via WPC technology. The smartwatch can be paired with Android 5.0 devices or later and iPhone 5 with iOS 9.0 or later.
