Sony releases the PS4 remote control app on iOS

Sony has released a new app on iOS that allows remote control of the PS4 on their Apple devices. The new application only works via WiFi connection and is available for free.

Sony is approaching Apple by releasing an application that has already been on the green robot system for a few years for the iOS system. This ” new ” application released is called ” Remote Play ” and allows you to connect your iPhone or iPad to your PS4, allowing control of the console interface via touch controls.

To be able to take advantage of the new function, your PlayStation 4 must be updated to version 6.50, released just in these days. Obviously, you will also need to download the PS4 Remote Play application on your iOS device, by logging in with your Sony account credentials.

The connection between the two devices will only be possible via Wi-Fi and not via the data network; on the contrary, instead of another Sony application already present on the App Store called R-Play that allows users to play with the PS4 via the data network but at a cost of $11.99.

Once connected, you will have access to the main PS4 screen on your iPhone, and you will be able to control it via touch controls that mimic the buttons on the DualShock 4 controller. You need to accept the permissions that the application requires to iOS.
