Surface Pro 4 and Book, the new firmware improves the battery is charging

Microsoft starts the distribution of new firmware dedicated to the latest models of the Surface line. Among the changes documented included the improvement of the battery charging, thermal management and compatibility with the access point.

Microsoft, in recent days, has launched the first issue of the 2016 firmware updates dedicated to the latest models of the Surface line, or the tablet Surface Pro 4 and the 2-in-1 Surface Book.

The changelog of the new firmware for Surface Pro 4 documents the following new features:

  • Surface Embedded Controller Firmware (v103.899.256.0) introduces improvements to the battery charging activities and thermal management.
  • Driver Update Surface Fingerprint Sensor (v2.2.10.6), improves accuracy.
  • Division updating drivers Wireless Network Controller and Bluetooth (v15.68.9037.59) improves compatibility with APs and 5Ghz networks.

Surface Book

For completeness, we also report the information on the changes introduced with the new update dedicated to Surface Book that may be useful to users who have chosen to overcome the constraints of distribution and have also taken steps to make the purchase in the United States (either directly or through the various services that allow you to make purchases in the US market).

  • Surface Embedded Controller Firmware (v88.899.256.0) introduces improvements to the battery charging activities and thermal management.
  • Update Wireless Network Controller and Bluetooth’s driver (v15.68.9037.59) improves compatibility with APs and 5Ghz networks.
  • Surface DTX update driver (v1.3.202.0) improves the Surface keyboard detection.
  • Only for models equipped with Nvidia GeForce GPU: Nvidia GeForce update Update (v10.18.13.5914) with stability improvements.

To download and install the new firmware, you simply do a manual control via Windows udpate.
