TAG Heuer Connected with SoC Intel is the first Android smartwatch luxury

TAG Heuer is configured as the first smartwatch Android Wear luxury. And for those who are afraid of the real longevity of the product, the company offers the opportunity to deliver it after two years to a traditional model.

TAG Heuer has announced its Connected, the first smartwatch based on Android Wear to be considered a luxury product. At the price of $1,500, the Swiss brand is not afraid to define its new-product smart immortal, although with a little trick commercial.

TAG Heuer watches produced by the higher cost of the traditional media, and is among the first to fall in the the technology sector from the experience gained with products related exclusively to the world of fashion. And in this case, TAG Heuer has plenty of experience.

TAG Heuer Connected has a diameter of 46 mm and 12.8 mm thick. It weighs 52 grams and its case is made of titanium. The display, perfectly circular, it is based on a matrix LTPS LCD and is covered with a crystal plate of sapphire.

It supports maximum resolution of 360×360 pixels within a diameter of 1.5 inches and can capture the reflection of ambient light to improve visibility by cushioning the energy consumption. It is a technology used in the past by other brands, but to be evaluated on the field compared to the OLED.

Under the shell Connected it is characterized by the presence of an Intel Atom series Z34xx, operating at a frequency of 500MHz and 1.6 GHz peak. The hardware is accompanied by 1 GB of RAM (twice as much as many other models smartwatch), 4 GB of storage, and powered by a battery of 410 mAh.

The watch is built around the design of the famous model Carrera, although not boasting the words ” Swiss made ” since 30% of its parts are imported from other nations. Unlike the Carrera, it is not really immortal.

TAG Heuer Connected SmartWatch

TAG Heuer does not seem to have much confidence in the real longevity of the product. After two years of purchase it allows the customer to deliver its Connected to receive in return a Carrera traditional, and not a new variant of the smartwatch.

They have rightly pointed out that in many it is as if the Swiss were not entirely convinced of the product category and the interest that will accrue users on it over time. In other words, the manufacturer believes that within two years the current users of smartwatch will return to the concept of a traditional clock.
