What appears to be a common portable audio recorder is actually a much more intelligent object, able to translate conversations in more than 50 different languages in real time.

Vasco 2 mini does not go that far and ” knows ” only about fifty languages but has the advantage of being less invasive: as big as an old cell phone, those produced before the arrival of the huge touch screens. Its operation is very simple: just press a button to tell it to listen to the conversation in progress and, once the button is released, the sentence will be translated into the chosen language.
If you’re wondering how such a small device can integrate the computing power, and the huge database needed to understand 50 languages, the answer is soon given: it doesn’t have it. For the calculations, Vasco 2 Mini relies on online servers, which will take care of processing the data and performing translations in real time. Fortunately, it will not be necessary to invest capital for roaming: inside the device is integrated a SIM that offers the necessary connectivity in 150 countries, without the need to pay fees.
The battery is capable of supporting 160 hours of talk time and the noise-reducing microphone is effective even in noisy environments, such as public areas or crowded meeting rooms. Among the supported languages are also Chinese and Hindi, which after English are among the most spoken in the world, but there is no lack of Finnish, Arabic, Filipino, Greek and Italian.
The price? Not very low but reasonable: $259.
