What’s new in storage even by Seagate at CES 2015

Seagate, which is celebrating 35 years of business, a portable hard drive, a drive for wireless mobile devices and a line of products designed for personal cloud environments. Seagate also has a number of innovations at CES for the consumer audience, which solidify to premium products presented under the brand LaCie.

It starts first from Seagate Personal Cloud, a line of devices designed to facilitate the adoption and use of personal cloud environments. Within a line are devices to a drive, with a capacity of 3 TB, 4 TB and 5 TB, and devices to two drives, with a capacity of 4TB, 6TB and 8TB.

The products of the Seagate Personal Cloud over to interface with standard devices PC and Mac compatible (thanks to Seagate Media App) smart TVs with LG and Samsung from 2012 onwards and support streaming content with media players such as Roku, Google Chromecasts and Apple TV.

It is also well able to access content in the Seagate Personal Cloud to mobile devices based on Android, iOS and Windows 8. The DLNA support allows to exploit other streaming devices, such as Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Xbox One. The devices Seagate Personal Cloud also offer the ability to perform automatic backups and are compatible with the Apple’s Time Machine.

Availability is expected later in the year, at a price not yet announced.

Seagate Wireless is instead a solution for streaming content on Android, iOS, Windows 8 and Windows RT Kindle via free WiF network created by the device, thus eliminating the need to be in the area of ​​an existing network connection. Seagate Wireless will be available from next month at $ 130 and with a capacity of 500 GB.

 

Seagate Seven is instead an external drive ultra thin appearance recalls the form factor of 2.5-inch internal hard drives. The unit has a thickness of only 9.6 mm and is characterized by a chassis made entirely of metal. Seagate Seven, equipped with USB 3.0 connection, is a portable hard disk 500 GB which will be available in the second half of the month of January for a suggested price of $ 100.
