WhatsApp: Text in bold and italics with the latest update

WhatsApp for Android introduces a novelty, text formatting, which could change the way we interface with others through the application.

Available on the official website the latest version of WhatsApp for Android integrates, among the novelties, the basic functions of text formatting. The update will be distributed in the coming days in all compatible smartphones via Google Play Store and can be identified by the version number of 2.12.539. All those who have already installed it can be set bold and italics in messages.

Just as you can on other services of competition, such as Google+, you simply need to write an asterisk before and after a word (or set of words) to send in bold all there inside of two symbols. The user can select only part of a message to highlight the content, or write a whole message in bold. You can also use other formatting styles, although for now the choice is short and sweet.

The only other italic style is granted. It must be done the same way but with the symbol of underscore, the underscore. Missing the opportunity to cut the text with a half-height line, and many other more specific formatting capabilities.

The new update also incorporates a number of additional news on the front of the document sharing. This is a feature added a few weeks ago on the service, on Android, is completed with the new update with the ” Browse other docs ” that allows you to select any documents from Google Drive or onedrive.

At the time of writing it seems that the feature works only with PDF, Doc, calculation and presentation sheets, which are converted to PDF before sending to avoid any compatibility issues with the receiving device.
