Xiaomi Mi Laser Projector, up to 150 inches

Xiaomi introduced the new Mi Laser Projector, a projector that uses the same technologies used for movie projectors. The device will cost less than $1,470 when it’s on sale next July 4th.

Xiaomi continues to expand its brand to new market segments by presenting the Mi Laser Projector, a laser projector for the home theatre segment and positioned around $1,470 in price. The Mi Laser Projector uses the same technology as ALPD 3.0 of the projectors developed by Appotronics.

The Xiaomi Mi Laser Projector also uses a DLP (digital light processing) solution created by Texas Instruments, specifically for this device. The maximum diagonal is 150 inches to 50 cm from the projection plane, with a technology that allows you to focus automatically. The resolution is 1,920 x 1,080 (Full-HD).

The intention of Xiaomi seems to be to bring the same technology used in cinemas even on home appliances; The benefits of laser technology consist of energy-saving technology on the one hand, and on the other hand, longer life (Xiaomi estimates the life of the device in 34 years with a daily use of two hours) at best brightness (5,000 lumens ) And in the widest range of colors represented (85% of the NTSC gamut).

Integrated into the device are loudspeakers and the same interface used on the Mi Box, the mini-computer to connect to televisions to make them smart TV. This last aspect implies that the projector uses Android.

The Xiaomi Mi Laser Projector will be available from July 4 through the MIJIA application and via the Xiaomi Mall at a price of $1,470. There is no news about the international availability of the device.
