Motherboard mining by Colorful: Out of standard format and with as many as 8 PCIe slots

A single PCIe slot is certified as a 3.0 x16 gen and combined with the processor, the remaining seven PCIe are gen 3.0 x1 matched to the Intel B250 Express PCH chipset, all set on a 485 mm long and 195 mm wide, probably those who want it in their own mining activities will have to resort to tailor-made solutions or rely on customized systems based on rack structures.

Colorful comes out of the ATX scheme and presents a new motherboard based on LGA1151 socket with non-standard form factor: it’s called C.B250A-BTC PLUS V20 and as you can well imagine, given the rich set of slots for video cards, is intended to crypto-currency miners.

This board is 485 mm long and 195 mm wide. It will probably struggle to find a place even in the largest HPTX houses, and those who want it in their mining business will have to resort to tailored solutions or rely on customized systems based on rack structures.

C.B250A-BTC PLUS V20Returning to the characteristics of the motherboard, has been designed and built to accommodate up to 8 video cards with dual slots, and includes only the most essential features for the extraction of currency crypto: without the 24-pin connector, so you can share more power supply unit, instead it has two ATX 4-pin inputs for the CPU and 16 PCIe power inputs, of which eight are intended to supply the main power to the same PCIe slots, and the other eight as secondary connectors, to be used or less, depending on the type of video cards that will be used.

C.B250A-BTC PLUS V20A single PCIe slot is certified as a 3.0 x16 gen and matched to the processor, the remaining seven PCIe are gen 3.0 x 1 paired with the Intel B250 Express PCH chipset. There is only one DDR4 SO-DIMM slot, because the system memory is not a great bottleneck for mining, and a few other connections: a pair of connectors for USB ports, an HDMI output, a SATA connector and a single port of 1 GbE network; availability and price not yet announced by the manufacturer, for more information and photos, please visit the page of the Colorful website dedicated to the motherboard.
