A Notebook AMD reminiscent of a Ultrabook

Asus U38 Ultrathin is a prime example of how technology AMD Trinity may be adopted for notebook technical features that resemble those of a Ultrabook.

During the press conference at CES in Las Vegas from Taiwan’s Asus AMD took the stage to showcase their new Asus U38 Ultrathin, a solution that is set to become a reference between the notebooks based on AMD architecture characterized by a particularly low thickness .

This model, we were able to see the work, and that we propose in more detail in the gallery below, using a chassis that closely resembles that of the proposed Ultrabook belonging to the family of Asus Zenbook Prime. The material used for the chassis recalls the aluminum for the finish, but it is a plastic alloy, which allows undoubtedly contain the cost of the total purchase making this proposal even more attractive to consumers.

Being a model based on AMD architecture is impossible to indicate the name of Asus Ultrabook, brand restricted to models that are equipped with Intel architecture and reflecting some very specific design requirements.

The platform used is the Trinity: in particular, there is a A10-4665M APU with a clock frequency of 2 GHz quad-core architecture, and a maximum declared value of TDP 25 Watts. The screen is one of the strengths of this product: This is a touch panel with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, a feature that we have not yet found a notebook combined with architecture-based Trinity. Among the remaining specifications, we report the presence of SSD 128 Gbytes, in combination with 6 Gbytes of system memory.

A product of this type is undoubtedly very interesting for AMD, which can thus better promote their own solutions Trinity not only in the segment of entry level but also between the proposed higher end. It remains to be seen at this point what other manufacturers will follow this direction notebook Trinity going to promote non-market entry level solutions.
