Cadillac: Hands-free Super Cruise system available on all cars starting in 2020

Precisely the intention is to update the current assisted driving functions, available on virtually all their vehicles, with the Super Cruise systems from 2020, and then expand this technology to other models of the GM group (General Motors) of which Cadillac belongs to.

Cadillac wants to reach new customers and for the next few years has decided to focus entirely on autonomous driving with its innovative system called Super Cruise designed to offer its customers an advanced autonomous driving experience.

Precisely the intention is to update the current assisted driving functions, available on practically all their vehicles, with the Super Cruise system from 2020, and then expand this technology to other models of the GM group (General Motors) of which Cadillac belongs to.

This technology for the first time was presented last year on the preview model Cadillac CT6, car already available in the list in 2018, the Super Cruise autonomous driving system available for this model, is based on high-level components as LIDAR detector ( Laser Imaging Detection and Ranging), multiple cameras and various types of sensors all combined with a fine processing of the cartographic data, ensuring the possibility for the driver to forget the steering wheel on the main road arteries.

CadillacAutonomous driving does not include the alienation of the driver, who is not allowed to lose sight of the road, thanks to an infrared camera integrated into the steering wheel, constant monitoring is ensured that the driver’s eyes are focused on the road and not distracted by other activities or worse still absent as in the case of that owner of a Tesla Model S who was driving autonomously comfortably seated in place of the passenger.
