Comes iTunes U 2.0 – Introduced new tools for teachers and students

iTunes U 2.0 are updated and allows teachers to create and edit courses teaching content directly from your iPad. Students will be able to manage class discussions and submit questions: free on the App Store.

Apple releases version 2.0 of the free app iTunes U for iOS dedicated to the educational world of Apple. From now on, teachers using this app can create, edit and manage entire courses directly on the iPad, while students can collaborate in new ways, for example by initiating class discussions and asking questions directly from the iPad.

This release introduces the ability for teachers to provide each student with an outline of the course, write a post, assign tasks, upload course materials, keep track of student participation and much more: the app works with Pages, Numbers and Keynote as well as other applications available on the App Store that allow you to share learning content created with the option ” Open in iTunes U ” .

As for the students, will collaborate with classmates and teachers through the Discussions feature of the app iTunes U that allows you to follow class discussions and participate in conversations about new topics, or set push notifications to receive alerts when they start discussions on new topics or replies when they are added to the existing ones. Teachers can also participate in forums, and more from the app, moderating discussions removing any messages or responses that are not relevant.

Recall that through iTunes U are available thousands of free online courses and course materials dedicated to all major school subjects: Apple’s platform is used by many colleges, universities and schools of varying degrees around the world, including many of the major institutions the world. With iTunes U, teachers can create teaching materials and courses in 69 countries and publish them in 155 countries around the globe.
