Fujifilm X-T30: The new model ready to amaze

Fujifilm X-T30 is the new mid-range mirrorless camera (price of just over $800 for the camera body) that is inspired by the older sister X-T3, and that evolves the philosophy of X-T20.

We knew that Fujifilm X-T30 would arrive today. The model that happens to the X-T20 and that brings part of the X-T3 equipment, has officially arrived on the market with many new features.

Fujifilm X-T30 is the latest X-Series camera and aims for a very interesting price / quality ratio, defying Sony directly. The machine body has a weight of 383 grams with dimensions of 118.4 x 82.8 x 46.8 mm while the camera body closely resembles that of the sister X-T20 albeit with some substantial change.

Inside the Fujifilm X-T30, we find the 26.1 MPixel X-Trans 4 CMOS sensor that promises excellent performance as well as the AF has been improved: the phase detection pixels are present on the whole framed area and with the AF phase, detection comes from +0.5 EV to -3 EV.

There are also features such as the ” Focus Lever ” or the joystick that allows you to ” move ” the area of focus, more comfortable than the panel or buttons (despite the touch panel LCD revised thinner than X-T20). The sensitivity reaches ISO 160 and is also available when shooting in Raw. The EVF is 0.39″ and about 2.36 million points.

The AF algorithm is the same as the older sister X-T3 so as to have higher performance (also thanks to the X-Processor 4 processor). It will be possible to exploit the detection of faces or eyes as well as being able to choose the face to focus on (and you can take advantage of this news for both video and photos). The battery life of the NP-W126S should guarantee up to 380 shots on a single charge.

Video recording reaches up to 4K/30P (capturing at 6K) which is recorded in 4:2:0 8-bit format on SD card and F-log and 4:2:2 10-bit from HDMI port. Among the novelties, we also find the mode called Eterna that simulates the finish of the film.

Fujifilm X-T30 will arrive in stores from the end of March 2019 with prices equal to $899.99 (body only), $1,069 with the XC15-45mm lens, and $1,329 for the XF18-55mm F2.8-4 R.
