How to Check if you have viruses on your PC

Have you had any problems with your computer these days and did you realize that you got a nice virus even though your antivirus was active?

It’s a bit of everyone’s problem: we trust only one antivirus, and we commit a very serious error, as it would be more appropriate to use more antivirus so as to be able to perform a check on several files downloaded simultaneously. This is why I want to teach you how to check if you have viruses on your PC correctly.

To do this, you can use the program called VirusTotal Uploader, which will scan for free suspicious files with multiple antivirus programs. This software is extremely simple and safe even if it is free. To get started, log on to the VirusTotal website and click on ” Email / Uploader ” at the top of the page.

On the page that will open after you have selected the button to download the program, click on the ” Download ” button and download the software on your computer. Then proceed to run the installation wizard inside your PC.

Once the program is installed, click on the ” Send ” button and then, to check if a particular file is infected, select it with the right mouse button and click on the ” VirusTotal ” item. Then wait for the file to be loaded into the program’s server and once it is loaded into the program, it waits for the software to automatically control the security of the same.

Once the program has automatically checked the file you will need to check the number located next to the ” Results ” item. If it were zero, it would mean that the file you uploaded is not infected and is completely safe.

If this is not the case, ie if it is higher than zero, you will need to click on the ” Show last report ” button, to get more information on the virus inside the file and find out if you can eradicate it, or if you need to totally delete the file from your PC.

If an analyzed file turns out to be suspect only for one or two antiviruses, while all the others indicate it as harmless, you don’t have to worry, you just have to analyze it again, better if the next day.

If the problem continues to exist, you could use your basic antivirus to ” quarantine ” the virus and try to eliminate the threat in this way.
