Microsoft Excel is perhaps one of the most ” complicated ” Office package programs and less intuitive than Word or PowerPoint.

We can use Microsoft Excel for many operations and on the PC, and maybe sometimes we would like to add to some of our works on Excel a more customizable aspect of our worksheet, such as coloring only part of the text contained in a cell. With this guide, following a few steps, we will understand how to carry out this simple procedure. Enjoy the reading.

Open Microsoft Excel

As a first step to do, we must go to the ” Start ” button at the bottom right, if we use a PC with Windows operating system and, in the search bar, type the name of the program and press the ” Enter ” button. If you are using a Mac, simply search for the program using the magnifying glass icon, usually placed in the top bar of the desktop.

Once you open the program in a new screen of Microsoft Excel, we will find ourselves in front of the classic three sheets, which if necessary can be modified at will, renamed or increased, composed of cells formed by coordinates of letters and numbers, visible respectively in the first row above the cells and the first column on the left of these.

These cells can be subject to various types of modifications, such as their size, their format, the internal color of each one. One of the changes that can be made is to colorize only a part of the text contained in them.

Write inside the cells

The next step is to write inside a cell. To do this, all you need to do is click on any cell with the left mouse button and start writing. If to try to color the text inside the cell, we will use the ” Fill color ” button located in the top bar of the Microsoft Excel interface; the color will be changed to the entire cell and not only to the part you had selected.

Colorize part of the contents of a cell

Changing only a part of the content written inside the cell is an extremely simple operation. Just select the part of the text to which we want to assign a different color and, once selected, press the ” Font color ” button in the bar of the tools located at the top of the interface (meaning the ” Font color ” button is the symbol characterized by the letter ” A ” with a colored rectangle at the base).

By pressing the arrow pointing downwards to the right of this button, you can choose the color that is more to your liking. With the same procedure, you can also enlarge only that part of the text you have selected, or put it in the capital, italic, or underline it. The text in the various boxes thus becomes fully editable at will. You can color the sentences inside the boxes with different colors, repeating the indicated operation.
