HP Pavilion 15 TouchSmart Sleekbook – Review

Today we talk about in our review of the HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15″, more precisely, the version 15-b104us. Today hardly anyone lives without a computer is the critical component of the technology we are now experiencing. Despite the advance of the mobile market, the PC does not give up, because the operating system of the tablet (which are totally obscuring PC sales) do not yet offer what a nice computer can.

Let’s face it, our mentality it requires the presence of at least one home computer or laptop that is. The Pavilion Touch Smart 15 you can be defined as a convenient solution for those looking for a great product, that can be used both in the workplace and in the home.

Let’s start with the talk of design, something that, in my opinion, whatever the product questioned, it is very important. I must say that I really like this Pavilion has a smooth line, without overly steep edges, and all do not mind. The shell is made of plastic products (or at least this is the impression you have one). It has a glossy finish. Although it is a notebook, the thickness is not so high, 2.1 cm, although thanks to the design itself seems minor. Regarding the weight, we have 2.1 kg, neither few nor too many. Of course, you could not miss the HP logo on the back of the display, but being placed at the bottom leaves a huge void.

All this is very usual and a feeling of strength, which is effective. Note ” the gap ” that exists between the bottom of the PC and the display, parts joined only by two lateral pins. This choice makes the notebook appears to view ” leaner ” or at least this is the impression I got. So, design passed with flying colors.

As for the technical side of the design, we have a full keyboard, or even with the keypad side, and buttons (excuse the pun) dishes to the island – the best solution that you can choose. Here is a note to make, the backlight is absent, although it is not particularly necessary. The touchpad, despite the size of a little small and decentralization, it seemed excellent, also has a stippled surface that ensures greater grip, shame about the buttons, maybe a little jar.

But now we finally hardware aspect of this HP Pavilion 15 TocuhSmart Sleekbook . Here, truth be told, there are still some bad. The technical specifications of this computer seem to be excellent, but the performance could be better. The specifications of this model are:

  • Processor Intel Core i5-3337U to 1.8 GHz.
  • 8 GB DDR3 RAM.
  • Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M (with 2GB dedicated).
  • 500GB SATA HD.

All specifications more or less of a good standard. Unfortunately, despite the routine operation should be great, the use of software are weighed to see the weak side of this notebook, but they can get away pretty well. Of course, the operating system that is mounted Windows 8 (upgradeable to 8.1). Of course, this runs perfectly, just lag and decent responsiveness. To reconcile everything and make a point more to the Pavilion TS 15 is definitely the display, an HD BrightView LED-backlit 15.6 “ 1366 × 768 pixels touchscreen.

The yield is quite good, although in the presence of sun, you see the high reflection that, because of the touch panel. As for the touchscreen just cannot complain, it is not excelled, but it is great to use if it can be done. We remain in the field of hardware and talk about the inputs and outputs:

  • SD Card Reader.
  • 1 HDMI output.
  • 1 Port Jack 3.5mm input / output.
  • 1 USB 2.0.
  • 2 USB 3.0.
  • 1 Ethernet port.

Absent the CD player, which is now seeing its sunset in this digital age. Last feature is to pin the sound, this notebook has a Dolby Advanced, which is not bad.

In conclusion, this HP Pavilion 15 TocuhSmart Sleekbook (the version we tested is the 15-b104us) is a great product, and if we want to use in the home or work computer. But, in my opinion, is not suitable for professionals who need to use the software really heavy. Definitely, a Pro is the price, which is around $599.
