HP Specter x360 13 becomes smaller and more powerful in the 2019 edition

HP updates its well-known 2-in-1 convertible Specter x360 13 reducing its size but innovating on the internal component, thanks to the heart with a 10th generation Intel Core CPU.

HP has announced a new version of its well-known convertible 2-in-1 laptop, the HP Specter x360 13 model. Display always 13 inches but overall dimensions that are significantly reduced, thanks to a work of optimizing the display frame that has led to a ratio between frontal surface and screen that has gone from 78% of the 2018 model to 90% of the 2019.

The screen is also available in a version with OLED panel and 4K resolution, capable of a maximum brightness of 400 nits and equipped with True Black HDR technology for a declared contrast ratio that reaches 100,000:1.

The screen is connected to the base through two hinges, which allow 360° rotation up to the base with keyboard, allowing the laptop to take on different functions, including that of a tablet. The overall dimensions are reduced by virtue of the thinner frames: HP declares an overall reduction of 13% compared to the 2018 model.

Under the body, we find the new Intel Core 10th generation processors belonging to the Ice Lake family: the option is among the Core i5-1035G1 and Core i7-1065G7 models. The hardware equipment offers the possibility of installing up to 16GB of system memory, with onboard storage secured by an SSD up to a maximum of 1TB of capacity combined with 32GB Intel Optane memory.

The new HP Specter x360 13 family is part of the series of Project Athena certified notebooks, the new initiative launched by Intel that aims to certify notebooks able to provide not only high battery operating autonomy but also construction and usage peculiarities.

The total autonomy, thanks to the optimizations that fall within the Project Athena program, reaches the 22 hours of declared operation using the standard screen with Full HD resolution. Turning to the 4K OLED screen, it is likely that autonomy will have a negative impact.
