Microsoft Lite OS: Here is a first example of the interface

Brad Sams, a known reliable leaker on these issues, has reproduced a possible interface that we will see on Microsoft Lite OS. The new operating system is scheduled for spring / summer and will compete with Chrome OS.

For some months, Microsoft has been carrying out a project called Microsoft Lite OS, it is a new operating system which, as the name suggests, will be ” lighter ” than Windows 10 and will compete with the operating system of Google: Chrome OS.

Brad Sams, known for these advances, especially concerning Microsoft, has created an example of an interface for what will be Windows Lite OS. The system is very reminiscent of Windows 10 but at the same time some parts refer to Chrome OS, despite this Brad imagines the experience similar to the classic Windows.

The system will only run UWP (Universal Windows Platform) and PWA (Progressive Web App) apps, but the Redmond company will be to implement support for old Win32 applications, which can be done by inclusion in a dedicated container or streaming. Microsoft wants to streamline and simplify the management and use of the devices that will run this operating system, without renouncing the classic window management and the File Explorer function.

The target that Microsoft wants to take with this new operating system is that of users who use the system little and have few needs; the Redmond company does not exclude to increase the potential of the system and give the possibility even to the most demanding users to exploit it to the fullest.

The work at home, Microsoft proceeds on two fronts that include an Intel architecture on one side and an ARM architecture from above, there are no rumors about it and we can’t tell you if the company will adopt both systems or is considering whether to favor them one with respect to the other.

It will probably already be possible to see a beta version during the spring of the Build 2019 conference in summer, the tests will start, but we don’t know yet if Microsoft Lite OS will be tested only by a small group or Microsoft will involve public users.
