Motorola Moto G8: Everything you need to know

Motorola has launched a new smartphone that will represent the company’s benchmark for the mid-range market.

Motorola has removed the veils from the Moto G8, the manufacturer’s new mid-range smartphone that aims to be its reference point. After seeing the Moto G8 Play, Moto G8 Plus, and Moto G8 Power models, the basic model arrives on the market, not necessarily the best but the one on which the company will focus more on commercial terms.

The new smartphone increases in size compared to the predecessor (moto g7) with a 6.4″ panel that adopts a resolution only HD (720), whereas g7 could boast a Full HD+, while the front camera is no longer inside the big notch central drop, but inside a hole in the upper left (if seen from the front). In terms of specifications, we also have an 8MP sensor on the new model.

On the back, we have a triple photographic module with 16MP sensors for the main, supported by a wide-angle f/1.7 lens, an 8MP sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens and a 119° field of view; and finally a macro module with a 2MP sensor. The smartphone seems to have four cameras, but in reality, the lower module contains the components for the AF Laser system.

Motorola Moto G8 – Specifications

The main camera of Moto G8 can record videos in 4K at 30fps, just like the predecessor. Hardware side we find the same specifications of Moto G8 Plus: Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 with Adreno 600 Series GPU, and only cut of 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage (of which 51GB available). The smartphone uses a hybrid dual-SIM system, with the second SIM that can be inserted to replace the microSD and vice versa.

The battery, as on Moto G8 Plus and G8 Play, is 4,000 mAh, charging is limited to 10W. Two ports: the traditional USB Type-C and the 3.5mm jack for audio, while on the connectivity front, we find Bluetooth 5.0. The fingerprint sensor is on the back, right where the Motorola M logo is stamped.
